Tailor Your CV

πŸ“š How to Use the CV Manager

πŸ“‹ Managing the Main Board

  • βž• How to Add a New CV: The board directly mirrors the cvs/ folder on your computer. To add a new CV to the board, simply save or copy your PDF file into the cvs/ folder (or new_cvs/Applications). Then, refresh the appβ€”it will automatically appear in your "Follow-up" or "Applied" column!
  • πŸ—‘οΈ How to Delete a CV Ticket: Because the board mirrors your computer's folders, deleting a ticket is easy. Simply delete the PDF file from the cvs/ folder on your computer. Once deleted, it will disappear from the board.
  • πŸ–οΈ Moving Cards: Click and hold any card, then drag and drop it into a different column (e.g., from Applied to Interviewing) to update its status.
  • πŸ“ Updating Info: Click on any card to open its Details Modal. Here you can type in the Company Name, Salary Range, Notes, and check off interview stages (like Phone Screen, HR, etc.). Click "Save Changes" when done.

🎯 Managing Business Tracks

  • βž• Create a Track: Select + Create New Track... from the track dropdown (top left). Enter a name, and a new database and folder structure will be created for you.
  • ✏️ Rename a Track: Select the track you want to change, then click ✏️ Rename Current Track.... Note: You cannot rename the "All Tracks" view.
  • πŸ“‚ Data Organization: Each track has its own db.json and Applications/ folder inside the tracks/ directory.
  • πŸ”„ Moving Applications: Open any CV ticket and use the Track Assignment dropdown to move it to a different business track.

🀝 Managing Networking Leads

  • βž• Adding a Lead: Go to the "Networking" tab and click the blue + Add Lead button. You can paste a LinkedIn URL to auto-fill details, or paste the entire Job Description text and click "Extract Details".
  • πŸš€ Promoting a Lead to AI Tailor: When you are ready to apply for a lead, click the ✨ AI Promote button on the lead's row. This will automatically copy the Job Description and switch you to the "AI Tailor" tab so you can generate a custom CV for it!
  • πŸ—‘οΈ Deleting a Lead: To remove a Networking Lead, click the "Edit" button (pencil icon) on the lead, and change its Status to "Not-relevant/Close". It will be removed from your active list and archived at the bottom.

✨ Using the AI Tailor

  1. Click the ✨ AI Tailor tab at the top.
  2. Paste the Job Description into the left text box (if it wasn't auto-filled by promoting a lead).
  3. Click ✨ Create Instructions. The app will generate a perfect AI prompt on the right.
  4. Click πŸ“‹ Copy to Clipboard and paste it into Gemini or ChatGPT, along with your Master CV text.
  5. Save the AI-tailored CV as a new PDF in your cvs/ folder, and it will appear on your board!

πŸ”„ Exporting Data

Click the πŸ’Ύ Export MD button at the top to download a complete markdown file of all your current active leads and board data. This is great for keeping backups or feeding context to an AI agent.

Built for efficiency. Good luck with your job search! πŸš€
